For the past year, Microsoft has been working with over 50 schools around the
United States to use computers in a new way in classrooms. In each school, students are
using a laptop computer in both in school and at home at night and weekends. This program
was modeled on program that has been working for eight years in Australia. At the Learning
with Laptops Summit held in April, the existing schools told their stories to over 200
more schools that are considering joining the program.
Now Microsoft has made the web site devoted to this program open to the public. They
are collecting resources and information that will be of interest to any school
considering using laptop computers. The site is organized into the following sections.
- Implementation
An overview to get you started including a road map that outlines the implementation
process and a collection of resources to help you implement laptops into your school.
- Educator
Resource

classroom, including lesson plans, training resources, reading materials, related Web

- Discussion forum
